I have a handheld that I will be only a few places like the beach, park, etc. What will happen to them after the changeover?

If you do not get a decoder, will be relics.
Portability seems to be the problem, you can check to purchase in order to build a digital booklet. I know that Radio Shack and Best Buy are two models available.
