Bought a Sony stereo, from a garage sale and do not come with an antenna. A man at Wal-Mart said that the speaker cable would work. I'm not so sure ...
Has anyone heard of it, and if so, how can I do?

The antennas are just the conductor speaker cable is a conductor.
If there is only one replacing broken telescopic antenna is a piece of wire cut from about 2 or 3 feet and connects to the antenna port.
If the beneficiary has special needs, your antenna is not as easy to describe here, but still, the wire-speakers do.
